Why SF Founders Treat Each Other as Peers

SF really is a special place to build companies.

Last night I sat at a table with founders of brand new startups, leaders at scaling organizations and C-level executives at public companies. And everyone truly felt like peers.

I’m convinced this is because everyone recognizes that the public company COO might start something new in a few years and the startup CEO might be running a thousand-person company by then.

Everyone has the possibility of being in each others’ shoes not too long from now. There’s a wonderful egaility to that which I have yet to find anywhere else.

Does this mean that Colorado isn’t a great place to build companies? Hells no.

It just means we still have loads of work to do to make founders at all levels feel welcome at the table. Colorado founders have just as much potential as in the Bay Area. We just need to surround them with experienced people who believe in them.

Thanks for being such a great example of what that looks like, SF.
