Struggling to post daily on LinkedIn? Every insight you might post here already came out of your mouth on a call this week.
As an experiment, I tried to get an LLM to draft LinkedIn posts from scratch a few months ago. It was hot garbage. Every single one had that cheesy AI smell.
I have it all my previous posts as well as several hundred hours of call transcripts. When I said "here's a new call, pull some great posts out of that," what I got was tepid AF.
AI is never going to write brilliant coaching advice. But it can transcribe like crazy.
I's on a half-dozen coaching calls most days. Somewhere in every one of calls, I say something pretty awesome. I connect two things that don't obviously connect. I tell a story about a client that kicked ass or screwed up big time. I lose my shit about something founders keep doing wrong.
Those are the posts. They already exist. They already came out of my mouth in my actual voice with my actual conviction. Problem. Framing. Examples. Solution. All damn day :)
And then I'd get in front of a blank screen and... nothing.
So I built a thing. It reads each transcript, pulls out up to five post-worthy moments per call and drafts each one in my voice using the same beats I already hit on the call. It's not writing anything. It's just translating what I already said from one medium to another.
And yet...
Even with the drafts done, I'd stare at 25 possible posts, pick one, then stare at five different lede/headline options, pick one, and by the time I had to edit the actual draft, I was mentally exhausted. I'd close the tab.
The process of choosing between many similar things depleted my energy enough that I'd get to the rewrite screen and just peace out. Those are the days in May and June when I didn't post anything here.
So now the system picks for me. Every morning it picks what it thinks was the best moment the day before and tells me to go edit it. No choice. Just rewrite and ship.
There was a time I thought every LinkedIn post had to be great. Then I did the math. How the heck does anyone write 250 great LinkedIn posts a year? Nobody does. You just have to post useful information. Sometimes a hundred people think it's important. Sometimes nobody cares.
A client told me this week: "I have hot takes all the time. But when I sit down to a blank page, I've got nothing."
Been there.
The insights happen extemporaneously. On calls. In DMs. Over coffee. You connect two things and go, oh, that's good. And then it evaporates because you're on to the next thing.
Record your calls. Read the transcripts. The posts are already in there.
I can't wait to read what you have to say.
