You're Scaling From Day One

You are scaling your startup from day one. Going from zero to one is just as much scaling as 10 to 100. Every stage is a step function. Every transition is both exciting and disheartening.

I was chatting with a client yesterday who has a product with millions of registered users but less-than-stellar retention.

It finally dawned on him how drastically he’s going to need alter his core product to become a successful company.

“We’re not going to get there with growth hacks, are we?”

No, my friend.

Imagine running a company with millions of users, having raised millions of dollars, and realizing you’re gonna have to fundamentally break things.

This is what scaling looks like. Every. Single. Time.

The things that got you here won’t get you there, as the saying goes.

As I said, that can be disheartening, realizing it never gets easier, just different hard.

That’s why connecting your work to your personal Values is so important. Entrepreneurs spend more time working than anything else in their adult life — if that work is meaningless, you’ll almost certainly fold before finding true success.

I’m running a workshop, in conjunction with Alex Raymond and Conscious Entrepreneurship, on identifying your core Values, connecting them to your daily responsibilities and sustaining your work through Fulfillment.

I promise I’m not going to ask you to do anything different. I’ll just show you how to be fundamentally more intentional about what you’re already doing.

It’s a small workshop with only 50 people and we only have a few tickets left. I’d love to see you there.
