I’m what you might call a “full-service” coach. One of my clients has a team that requires additional accountability for their weekly repetitive tasks. Instead of suggesting they write or buy software, I’m building them a Kamishibai Board. For free. On my weekend. Because 1) I love my clients and 2) I love building physical things.
Don’t know what a Kamishibai Board is? Neither did I until a month ago, when Julie Penner dropped some knowledge on me.
Simple put, it’s a board with red and green cards associated with team members’ repetitive tasks. Could be daily, weekly or monthly. At the beginning of the time period, all cards are set to red and when a team member completes one of their tasks, they switch their card to green. Put the board where the whole team can see it and, at a glance, everyone knows who’s done what. Instant accountability.
